As many Montrealers are aware, on the night of June 26th/27th 1879, Mary Gallagher was murdered, and beheaded with an axe, by her fellow prostitute, Susan Kennedy, in a house on the corner of William & Murray Streets in Griffintown.
Legend has it that every 7 years Mary returns to this corner in search of her head.
This year, the Corridor Culturel de Griffintown has a “MARY NO-HEAD WALKS AGAIN” event on Tuesday, June 26th at 8:00pm
(- on the corner of William & Murray.)
Just show up for the vigil at this corner, at the appointed time, and see if you find Mary there searching for her head !
