This may be in the wrong topic, but I am sure that in the church burials of a few people in St. Columban (or maybe Ste. Scholastique) an Irish county of origin was given. This seemed to be for single persons for whom no other "community connection" could be made. As you know, normally for an unmarried person the parents would be given; for a married or widowed person the spouse would be given. It is ironic that single persons with no descendants would have this genealogical information fortuitously provided!
