Everyone involved with the St. Columban-Irish site wish to extend our sympathies to the family of the young man who was killed trying to jump off a float at this year?s annual Montreal St. Patrick?s Day Parade, held yesterday, March 14th 2010.
The exact cause of this accident is unknown but there is a suspicion of liquor being involved - likely combined with the very bad weather conditions that included heavy rain; strong winds and cold weather.
The St. Patrick?s Day Parade has been a fun and family event held annually in Montreal for more than 150 years, and this sudden death certainly saddened the organizers; spectators; and everyone else who contributes to the event.
