St. Columban Event Meeting;

We had a meeting yesterday, Saturday, December 30th to continue planning for our Remembering St. Columban Event scheduled for January 27th 2007.

In general the meeting involved discussions concerning the Script; Rehearsal schedules; and modifications to keep the production within a two hour limit (8pm ? 10 pm).

Kelley has been working on the script; while Bernadette is trying to marry the dancers to the script and Margo Heron & Serena Selby have been doing a lot of production planning and working with the Oscar Peterson hall about their facilities.

Kelley also mentioned that she has a number of short letters that were written during the period and will be read by various narrators. She still has to find a few additional ?volunteers? willing to read some of these letters at various points during the production.
Although Serena did voice some concern about how she will be able to cue these readers who will be in the main audience.

Margo is trying to determine a rehearsal schedule when all, or most, of the talent involved will be available (the Band; the Dancers & the main Narrators). We will try to put something together next Friday or Saturday for some of the individuals involved.

Ken will work on getting the Liquor Permit needed for the ?Gala?

We will likely place some tables near the entrance to sell CD?s from the Tuna Band; Claude?s Book and perhaps also take orders for the DVD of the event.

Fergus will work on getting out a Press Release in the next few days to all English & French media.

Fergus & Ken may take a little trip around the Montreal Irish Bars (tough job - but someone has to do it!) and give them posters of the event and try to get some advertising for the program.

We?ll see if Jeff still has copy of the Power Point presentation from Ottawa in case any of it is usable for this Event.

Marie Christine showed us the very early stages of the DVD production ? looks good so far?

We still have to really push the ticket sales. Most of have some kind of verbal commitment from various friends and family members but now we have to turn them into tangible and actual ticket sales. ? As well, we really need some additional advertising for our Program ?

So these are a few of the highlights that I noted from the meeting ? of course if anyone has any corrections or deletion, please do send them along?.

Let me also take this time to wish you al a very healthy and prosperous 2007 !!!

Take Care

Fergus

Hi Everyone;

We are moving along with the event but....

We do need you all to push some ticket sales....Let Kelley know if you want some reserved for later payment...

We also need some help with finding some additional advertisers for the program...Let Ken know if you have any suggestions...

And, we also need some help promoting the event so please put up posters and talk up the event to friends and family...

I think we have about 175 sold and/or reserved at this point....

Thanks

Fergus
