Copy of e-mail recently received from Jaimie McEvoy relating to the McEvoy family of St. Columban..(Sorry originally I wrote the name as Jamie when it should be Jaimie (with an extra I - Also corrected the e-mail address at the bottom of this note)..

Hello,

My name is Jaimie McEvoy, and I am descended from the McEvoy of Saint Columban. ?Please add me to the mailing list.

I was very pleased, by the way, to see the web site: ?
http://www.stcolumban-irish.com/.

It's absolutely wonderful!

I've compiled some information and analysis of the McEvoy in Saint Columban, and would be glad to pass it along. ?I have a large file of the descendants of the family as well.

I understand that you once wrote a history of Saint Columban. ?Is it possible to obtain a copy? ?I understand that the book is written in French - I'll struggle with that, but I should be O.K., and I have some friends here to help me out. ?I understand that there is a fee.

I may have been misinformed at one time - I had once been told that Saint Columban, including the cemetery, had been destroyed to make way for Mirabel Airport. ?Is this not the case?

Reading further on the website, and the work you've inspired, I must say I feel very emotional both about the existence of the tombstones, the sad condition, and the efforts to restore the cemetery. ?It was heartbreaking to see the conditions of the tombstones. ?I've been told that Edmund McEvoy had a tombstone there. ?Edmund was the brother of my ancestor Thomas McEvoy (married to Margaret Marshall).

Wishing you well this season,
